Welcome to So La Music! Our story is one of passion and perseverance, beginning with a young girl's dream of playing the piano. Over the years, that dream transformed into a lifelong pursuit of music, culminating into a career that inspires others. Join us as we celebrate the magic of music and share our journey with you!

Meet Linda Mayo, a dedicated New York certified music educator with over 20 years of experience in and outside the public school system. Linda has a passion for teaching diverse student populations, whether private lessons or group settings. Her expertise extends beyond the classroom, having served as the music and arts coordinator for the YMCA, where she developed engaging arts programming for summer camps and year-round classes.  From beacon programs to classes for all ages, Linda is committed to fostering a love for music in every student she encounters. 

Linda is currently a tenured teacher for the DOE, working at a  school in Brooklyn. She has also been part of the faculty for a pre-college program at Queens College for over 6 years. As a DOE teacher she has co-facilitated city-wide Professional Developments for music teachers across the city. She also had the privilege of conducting a 100 children chorus for her district. In her time she has been able to create partnerships with Carnegie Hall, Young Concert Artists (YCA) and New York Pops Orchestra kids on the balcony program.
